From the early 1960s until Susan’s death in May 2011, sisters Sarah Campbell and Susan Collier worked together, bringing their painterly approach to their vibrant patterns, and transforming our dress and homes as if with a generous burst of sunlight through their shots of colour and painted marks. Their painted ikats, atmospheric views of Cote d’Azur and Room with a View, overflowing bower of Woodland Rose, adventures in abstracts with the iconic Bauhaus and Quickstep and loose painterly brush marks of Egyptian Birds and the first early Singing Tree sketch are just a handful of the paintings and designs that have become so strong in my mind’s eye.

This collection brings together highlights of the work of Susan, Sarah and their studio from five decades.
